Day 17.18

The road begins to turn and wind and familiar pine trees appear at the edge of it. "I love this road. It’s been a while since I have had to turn the wheel." remarks Chewie. Pinecones lie scattered on the ground that is now covered with green lush grass. Esperance is only 25km ahead and the landscape begins to change from the far and wide flatness to undulating hills. Along the side of the road there are oodles of puddles, some more like small lakes, within the wetlands, where seemingly dead trees reflect in the still water they stand in. The first signs of white sand appear here and there. "Wowie, wow!" and he pulls over. Hills in the distance, water ahead, sand dune shapes on the horizon. The sun starts its descent far behind us as long shadows contrast the bright colours.
